Die Hard 5 May Go To Max Payne Director, Takes McClane To Russia

Noam Murro stepped up earlier this year to direct Skip Woods’ script for a fifth Die Hard movie, but those plans seem to have now changed. He’s now off to direct the 300 prequel, as we reported last months, which means a spot is open in the top seat for Bruce Willis’ next go as NYPD cop John McClane.

The name being thrown around to replace Murro is John Moore, who directed the Max Payne movie adaptation, unidentified sources tell Twitch. Moore is apparently not yet a lock, but Twitch hears that “the film is essentially his to take or leave.”

Some information about the in-development sequel’s plot has also emerged. The new story will take McClane and his son to Russia, where they of course find themselves inadvertently wrapped up in a conflict between locals. Yippee-kai-yay, comrade.

I hope it’s rated R unlike the last one.

Well let’s see…Behind Enemy Lines: PG-13…Flight of the Phoenix: PG-13…The Omen: R (not sure what got it that R rating)…Max Payne: PG-13. Gotta say, the odds of them going R on this are pretty slim, but I’m not worried about that as much as I’m worried about hating this man’s entire body of work. I don’t know how, but somehow this guy’s films always worm their way in front of my eyes, and after I and everyone else in the room is sufficiently pissed off I look at the back of the box and—hey, John Moore. You’ve done it again my friend. You’ve done it again.

Doesn’t Willis have say in the choice of directors?
