Alex Proyas’ Paradise Lost Adds Djimon Hounsou As Angel Of Death
It must be kind of cool to know that your acting resume has a credit for “Angel of Death” on it. Matt Damon has it (Dogma!) and now Djimon Hounsou will have it, too.
Variety confirms that Hounsou has been added to the cast of Paradise Lost, director Alex Proyas’ big-budget adaptation of John Milton’s epic poem, for Legendary Pictures. Hounsou joins the previously cast Bradley Cooper, who plays Lucifer, and Ben Walker, as Michael. The film is planned for a 2012 release.
There’s really not much more to report. Hounsou will play Abdiel, the Angel of Death. He eventually turns on Lucifer and brings word of the angel’s defection to God. He may deal in death, but Abdiel is a good egg at heart.
