Ben Affleck, riding high from the acclaimed 2010 crime drama The Town, is gearing up to direct and star in the thriller Argo, based on the true story of the covert rescue of six American diplomats from Iran in 1979. But after that? It looks like he’ll tackle another thriller, Line of Sight, for Warner Bros.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Affleck is in negotiations to produce, direct and star in the drama, which follows an elite commando squad transporting cargo while grappling with a global threat. The film, as conceived by Alex Heineman of Silver Pictures, uses a point-of-view approach similar to a first-person shooter game. Fittingly, Halo: Reach writer Peter O’Brien recently has taken a crack at F. Scott Frazier’s script.
