Captain America: The First Avenger Blu-Ray Details, Cover Art Arrive

While there’s no official release date yet from Marvel or Paramount Pictures, details have surfaced at Blu-ray.com on the Blu-ray and DVD release of Captain America: The First Avenger, which appears to be arriving Oct. 25.

It will be available as a 3D Limited Edition combo pack ($54.99), which features Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD and digital copy, and a standard combo pack ($42.99), which includes Blu-ray, DVD and digital copy).

Along with audio commentary from director Joe Johnston, cinematographer Shelly Johnson and editor Jeffrey Ford, the release boasts (as expected) the second “Marvel One-Shot” short, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer.” Other special features include:

  • “The Assembly Begins”
  • “Howling Commandos”
  • “Heightened Technology”
  • “The Transformation”
  • “Behind the Skull”
  • “Captain America’s Origins”
  • Deleted scenes

Captain America: The First Avenger stars Chris Evans, Hayley Atwell, Hugo Weaving, Sebastian Stan, Tommy Lee Jones, Dominic Cooper, Toby Jones, Stanley Tucci, Richard Armitage, Natalie Dormer, Neal McDonough and Samuel L. Jackson.

    $42.99 for the “standard” combo pack??  That standard pack had better be pretty nifty. I can get whole seasons of shows for that kind of money.
