Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
All eyes turn to me here at Spinoff whenever a new Twilight news break arrives. It’s not that I have a thing for emo, sparkly vampires, but I’ve written extensively in the past for an audience that does and, much to my chagrin, knowledge of the series’ ongoing narrative has long since replaced memories in my brain that I can only assume were far more cool.
A couple things that non-fans might want to know about this movie before hitting play on the above trailer. Spoiler alert, I suppose. For one, there’s a birth scene in which a vampireling claws its way out of its mother’s stomach. No one’s really sure how that’s going to work in the teen-friendly The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 1.
There’s also the part where Taylor Lautner’s wolf-boy, Jacob, falls in love with said newborn vamp (although that might be in Part 2, from what my sources tell me). Weirdness abounds in the final book, so if you have a significant other who is obsessed with the series, you can at least look forward to some bizarre events.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 1 hits theaters on Nov. 18.
