X-Files Creator Chris Carter Heads Back To TV With Police Thriller

The X-Files creator Chris Carter is making a long-awaited return to television with Unique, a mystery police thriller with a female lead.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project has a supernatural bent to it. What else would we expect from the man behind the supernatural-themed, and paranoia-fueled, dramas The X-Files and Millennium? The former aired from 1993 to 2002, while the latter was woefully short-lived, running from 1996 to 1999.

Carter is set to write and executive the new thriller, which is set up at Media Rights Capital.

If we’re lucky, Unique will take its cues from early to mid-run X-Files, not the last season or two.

Glad to hear Carter is gettin’ back on the horse.

Go away, Chris Carter. X-Files went to crap long before it ended, and the two movies were weak.

I’ll stick with Fringe, a show that keeps getting better and better, instead, thank you.

Reading this makes me think more tv shows should have endings in mind instead of out staying their welcome by going nowhere.
