Marvel Confirms It Will Reveal New Avengers Footage At NYCC

New York Comic Con kicks off next week, but today brings the convention news you’ve probably been waiting to hear: In a special Saturday presentation, Marvel Studios will reveal never-before-seen footage from The Avengers.

The panel, set for 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, will feature stars Chris Evans, Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg and Cobie Smulders, plus Marvel Studios president and Avengers producer Kevin Feige. The movie, which should need little introduction, opens May 4, 2012.

The sixth annual New York Comic Con will be held Oct. 13-16 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York City. Last year’s show was massive, attracting 96,000 attendees. With The Avengers in the mix, the turnout this year may be even bigger. Fans can still buy tickets directly from the event’s website, although the press release notes that only a limited number of four-day tickets are still available.

This will be my 4th year going to the new york con. This year there is a surprising lack in comic book panels in relation to other years. Also just from listening to other people (who aren’t even comic fans) I have a feeling that WAY more people are going this year then in previous years. The lack of comic panels plus the moronic move on the con’s part of putting the Walking Dead AMC panel right before Avengers is going to mean that in order to be in the avengers panel your going to need to sacrifice almost all of Saturday just waiting for it.

Don’t get me wrong I would love to see this panel but last years Walking Dead AMC panel at the NY con was a shit show. And the IGN theatre is so large that there is no conceivable way to stop people from taping the footage…So I think I’ll pass…Also Avengers reeks of one of those movies where the 3 or so previews leading up to the movies release will reveal every cool scene in the film. So i’m gonna wait and avoid the panel, if not just to avoid waiting on a 5 hour line inside the 7th layer of hell under the Javitz center…
