First Look At Julia Roberts As Evil Queen In Tarsem’s Snow White

Entertainment Weekly has premiered new images from Tarsem Singh’s still untitled Snow White film, including our first look at Julia Roberts as the evil queen, Armie Hammer as Prince Andrew Alcott and Lilly Collins’ Snow White with her dwarves (Mark Povinelli, Jordan Prentice, Danny Woodburn, Sebastian Saraceno, Ronald Lee Clark, Martin Klebba and Joey Gnoffo).

In Relativity Media’s brightly colored take on the classic tale, “an evil queen steals control of a kingdom, and an exiled princess enlists the help of seven resourceful rebels to win back her birthright in a spirited adventure comedy filled with jealousy, romance, and betrayal that will capture the imagination of audiences the world over.” The film opens March 16.

Update: Yahoo! Movies has rolled out additional images of Roberts, Collins, Hammer, and Nathan Lane as Brighton, the queen’s harried servant.

Julia Roberts doesn’t look like an evil villain at all and
the crew is very lazy to not transform her appearance for this film.

It was also a wasted opportunity that they didn’t cast
seven recognisable actors with comedic experience to play the Seven Dwarfs.

    Man… this looks awful.

I’m very impressed that they actually cast little people as the dwarves instead of digitally shrinking normal sized actors.  And the wicked Queen of Snow White is supposed to be beautiful – the fairest of them all, except for Snow White.  I think it looks like it has potential.

lol. did you go to like every news article about this story, and copy and paste the same thing?

That’s because they blew the budget on JR’s salary that’s why.

I’m sort of disappointed she doesn’t look evil or have any real sex appeal goin on.

Julia Roberts rocks!  So I have a feeling that this film will hold its own.  Just because a lot of the characters are not well known does not mean that they are not talented!  I have a feeling that Snow White will do just fine at the box office.

Children will love this movie. I’m sure with Julia’s expertise in acting she will be able to portray the wicked queen really well.

  • Pamela2417

    beautiful.  new and different.

Personally, I think that people who look ‘normal’ and then do horrifying things are much more frightenening and project much more evil than people that ‘look evil’.  Think about it:  if a person looks mean and capable of evil, no one is suprised when they do something  If a person just looks arrogant and a little bored, and they do something really cruel or unjust – that’s real evil!

And just out of curiosity, how many well known actors are there that could play dwarves?
