The Avengers Trailer Downloaded 10M Times, Breaks iTunes Record

The Avengers teaser, which premiered Tuesday to the delight of legions of comics fans, was downloaded more than 10 million in its first 24 hours on iTunes, becoming the most-viewed trailer in the website’s history.

Opening May 4, 2012, the Joss Whedon-directed film stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as the Incredible Hulk, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, and Tom Hiddleston as Loki.

New footage from The Avengers will be screened Saturday at New York Comic Con, where Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige will be joined by Evans, Hiddleston, Clark Gregg (SH.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson) and Cobie Smulders (SH.I.E.L.D. Agent Maria Hill).

It’ll probably break “illegally downloaded film” records as well shortly after it debuts.  Is that irony?

The real irony is that there isn’t a legit download link (that works). They all take you to a version that’s either streaming or downloaded, but not saved, to your computer. Every time I try to use the iTunes download link I get an error (this is probably why, but still). So I grabbed it elsewhere.

     Reread what you replied to.

My point was that it will break that record because there isn’t anywhere legit to get it from. His point was just that it would be pirated a lot.
