NYCC | It’s a Superhero Takedown in Justice League: Doom Trailer

Warner Premiere and DC Entertainment have released the trailer for Justice League: Doom, which debuted Friday at New York Comic Con.

Announced in April at WonderCon, Justice League: Doom is based on the 2000 JLA story arc “Tower of Babel” by Mark Waid, Howard Porter, Drew Geraci and others. The plot involves the Justice League’s enemies getting their hands on Batman’s secret files detailing the weaknesses of his colleagues.

The direct-to-DVD feature, set for release in early 2012, features the voice talents of Kevin Conroy as Batman, Tim Daly as Superman, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Susan Eisenberg as Wonder Woman, Michael Rosenbaum as The Flash, Carl Lumbly as Martian Manhunter and Bumper Robinson as Cyborg.

Executive produced by Bruce Timm and directed by Lauren Montgomery, Justice League: Doom is the last work of writer and producer Dwayne McDuffie, who passed away on Feb. 22.

So, they replaced Ra’s with Vandal Savage? It doesn’t look much like Tower of Babel, other than using the basic plot point of Batman having countermeassures against the members of the league (and even that is an assumption at this point since there’s no indication that that is what this is about in the pilot).

The redesign of the Hall of Doom looks meh. The original is still a classic. At least Lex isn’t in it in an outdated green armor.

I think it’s funny that you consider the Darth Vader helmet Legion of Doom HQ as “classic”, but Lex’s armor was “outdated.”  To each their own I suppose … ;)

another then vadal savage taking rhas role from tower of babel looking forward to seeing the leque go nuts learning batman has ways of taking them down. the hall of doom looks too bright for a place of evil.

Looks good. I’ve enjoyed a lot of the latest DCU animated movies.

The Crisis one has been a favorite. But then again I did get to see my favorite (alternate earth) Outsiders characters!

Getting most of the voice actors from the Justice League series back (esp. Conroy) is a huge plus…  Also, Fillion as Hal is great (perhaps someone’s wishing they’d cast him as Hal for the live action movie now, rather than what we got?). I don’t like the design for Martian Manhunter though. I’d have preferred they went something more like his look from the JL series.

I haven’t read “Babel,” but perhaps I will now. I haven’t been terribly fond of most of the DC animted films thus far, but this one may have potential.,

I’ll try it…most of the casting is great with the exception of bringing Malcolm Reynolds, I mean Nathon Fillion back for Green Lantern. I don’t see how anyone thinks he’s a great match for the character. He’s playing his Firefly character, not Hal Jordan.
