Could The Dark Knight Rises End Up Occupying Wall Street?
It’s been a while since some potentially false information swept the Internet about the conclusion of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy The Dark Knight Rises. Well, the wait is over thanks to a post on the Los Angeles Times blog The Envelope, which cites an unnamed source saying that Occupy Wall Street will play into the movie’s New York City shoot.
The production will arrive in the Big Apple on Oct. 29 and shoot for two full weeks. While there’s been no official mention of the Occupy Wall Street protesters making their way into the film, the source says the cast has been made aware of the possibility.
It’s not too difficult to make the leap from a real-life protest of banking regulations to one about Batman after the events of The Dark Knight. But as these things go, we’ll all just have to wait and see how things work out. The irony of Warner Bros., a huge international corporation in its own right, taking advantage of a financial protest will most likely not be lost on those involved. On the other hand, as if the political movement aimed at balancing the difference between the wealthy and the poor didn’t have enough hangers on, just imagine how many more people will pour in if this turns out to be true!
