In-Depth on Marvel's "Divided We Stand" and The Latest Hydra Cap Twists
Just two episodes into the second season of The Walking Dead, AMC has announced it’s renewing the acclaimed drama for a third.
“Today we are pleased to announce that the ‘dead’ shall live as we proudly renew The Walking Dead for a third season on AMC and, globally, with our terrific partners at Fox International Channels,” AMC President Charlie Collier said in a statement. “We are thankful for everyone’s contribution in front of and behind the camera as we continue to make The Walking Dead a unique television experience. And, we are so proud as it continues to set viewership records around the world.”
Based on the long-running Image comic by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard, The Walking Dead attracted a series-high 7.3 million viewers with its second-season premiere. It also delivered 4.2 million viewers in the coveted adults 18-49 demographic, shattering a 10-year-old basic-cable record for a single drama telecast.
The third episode of Season 2, “Save the Last One,” airs Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC.
