Marvel's "Jessica Jones" Will Go "All the Way Dark," Promise Rosenberg & Loeb
Although fans have been clamoring for a sequel to The Incredibles since the animated adventure was released seven years ago, it’s been a while since we’ve heard anything about a potential follow-up.
Luckily, writer/director Brad Bird is making the press rounds for Mission: Impossible — Ghost Protocol, where he was asked why we haven’t seen that elusive Incredibles 2. It turns out it’s only because he hasn’t been pursuing it.
He tells Movies.com that he and Pixar are on the same page when it comes to the sequel: They’ll only do it if Bird writes it. The trouble is, he hasn’t found the perfect story.
“I think the reason it hasn’t [happened] yet is because the studio would like me to do it, if there were another Incredibles,” Bird tells the website. “And I’ve told them that I’m not really friendly to have someone else take away my child. […] I would like to think that I have several good ideas that could be incorporated into a next Incredibles, but I don’t have a whole movie yet, and the last thing I want to do is do it just because it would open big, or something like that.”
