New Trailer Drops for Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol

With all the hubbub lately about whether the 70mm IMAX prints of Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol will have a The Dark Knight Rises prologue, some of us may have forgotten exactly how cool the fourth movie in the Tom Cruise-starring franchise looks. To remind us, Paramount Pictures released this rad trailer that explains the basics of the plot. Ethan Hunt and his crew — Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg and Paula Patton — are on a job that goes bad, and they wind up getting blamed for an attack on foreign soil. Soon enough they find themselves the targets of some unknown forces without the aid of the Impossible Missions Force. It also appears as though there will be some questions about Renner’s allegiances.

The film, set to open wide Dec. 21, is helmed by Pixar mainstay Brad Bird, who wrote and directed The Incredibles and Ratatouille. It looks like he’s taken well to working with actual actors, effects teams and stunt crews because, at least as far as we can tell from the trailer, this is one action-packed flick.

Tom Cruise is still the most shiny star, among all his co-stars who are
all 12 or more years younger. His mega-watts personality is just a
