"Justice League": Exploring How Superman Returns (Again)
Comic Books, Film
After surprising everyone last week with the revelation that he’d secretly finished shooting an adaptation of Much Ado About Nothing, Joss Whedon has announced the next project from Bellwether Pictures, a new micro-studio he launched with Kai Cole.
According to Deadline, Whedon has written a supernatural romance called In Your Eyes for Brin Hill (Balls Don’t Lie) to direct. The film is described as a metaphysical love story about two seemingly polar opposites are connected in ways neither can imagine.
“When I wrote In Your Eyes, I didn’t have the wherewithal (or the moxie) to make it without an established production house,” Whedon said in a statement. “I believe, as I did then, that it’s a pretty timeless romance, and now, with the creation of Bellwether Pictures (and Brin Hill’s elegant, passionate take on the piece) I have the opportunity to prove it. (I also have a 37% increase in moxie.) I love this team and I can’t wait to see them bring In Your Eyes to life.”
Cole will produce along with Night & Day Pictures’ Michael Roiff. Whedon will be executive producer with David Rothenberg serving as co-producer.
Much Ado About Nothing featured a cast of Whedon regulars, including Amy Acker, Alexis Denisof, Nathan Fillion, Sean Maher and Fran Kranz, as well as Avengers star Clark Gregg. However, it’s too early to know whether In Your Eyes will likewise enlist familiar faces.
