The Walking Dead Ratings Slip
But Remain Huge for AMC
Ratings of AMC’s The Walking Dead slipped again this week, with 6.1 million viewers tuning in for Sunday’s 9 p.m. airing (8.3 million with the repeat). That’s down 9 percent from last week’s episode, which dropped 8 percent from the series-high ratings of the season premiere, which drew 7.3 million viewers.
As Entertainment Weekly notes, that slide falls squarely within normal “post-premiere dip territory” for the series, which at its height in the first season attracted 6 million viewers. So there’s nothing to worry about, particularly considering that AMC has already renewed The Walking Dead for a third season.
The next episode, “Cherokee Rose,” airs Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT, before the series premiere of AMC’s Western Hell on Wheels.
