‘Tangled Ever After’ to Debut With Beauty and the Beast 3D

Rapunzel and Flynn will return to the big screen in Disney’s “Tangled Ever After,” an animated short accompanying the 3D release of Beauty and the Beast. The short had been announced in August at the D23 Expo, but there had been no indication when it might premiere.

Directed by Nathan Greno and Byron Howard, the duo behind 2010’s Tangled, the short follows Rapunzel and Flynn as the kingdom prepares for their royal wedding, at least until the chameleon Pascal and the horse Maximus misplace the rings. A frantic, comical search ensues.

Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi will reprise their voice roles from Tangled, which grossed $590 million worldwide. Beauty and the Beast 3D opens Jan. 13.

I wonder if the release of Beauty and the Beast makes it eligible for the Academy Awards again?
