Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
From Davy Jones in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies to Grandsanta in the upcoming animated Arthur Christmas, actor Bill Nighy has played a number of varied characters. And now he might be adding a demon prince to that list if he accepts the main villain role in I, Frankenstein, Variety reports.
The film, based on an as-yet-unreleased graphic novel by Kevin Grevioux (Underworld), will be directed by Scott Beatty.
If Nighy does sign on, he’ll play a demon prince trying to track down Frankenstein’s monster, known as Adam, portrayed by Aaron Eckhart. Australian actor Socratis Otto will also play a demon working under Nighy’s character. The demons want to get their hands on Adam so they can figure out how to create their own reanimated corpses.
The film is being produced by Lakeshore Entertainment and Hopscotch Features for U.S. distribution through Lionsgate. Filming is scheduled to start in January with an intended release date of Feb. 22, 2013.
