Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington Lands Lead in Arthur & Lancelot

Kit Harington, Jon Snow in HBO’s Game of Thrones, is trading one sword for another.

Heat Vision reports the 24-year-old actor has been cast as the future King Arthur in Warner Bros.’ Arthur & Lancelot, joining The Killing‘s Joel Kinnaman in David Dobkin’s take on the legendary heroes.

The film depicts Arthur as an illegitimate son raised by a poor knight in a village who’ll grow up to be the ruler of England. Lancelot, on the other hand, is a rebellious noble with a distrust of government. Guinevere will play only a minor role in the film, but will be featured more prominently in potential sequels.

Harington, who also stars as the illegitimate son of a noble in Game of Thrones, will make his big-screen debut next year in Silent Hill: Revelation 3D.

oh dear God this sounds horrible. Maybe whoevers writing it should do some research and not fall into the trap of placing Arthur as ruler of England, when in all the myths he was a British king fighting against the invading Anglo-Saxons (the English).

I really wish someone woud just make Berand Cornwel’ls Warlord Trilogy so we could finally have some good Arthur movies.

Let’s just hope they don’t mix up all the characters like the Showtime series did.
