Why The Russos Are The Best Thing to Happen to the MCU Since Joss Whedon
MarketSaw scored some pretty interesting looks behind the scenes at Universal Pictures’ upcoming 47 Ronin in the form of costume test shots. The film, directed by Carl Rinsch (a student of Ridley Scott’s), is fictional account of real-life samurai in 18th-century Japan who avenge the murder of their master. As you can see, Keanu Reeves stars as Kai. He will be joined by Hiroyuki Sanada, Kô Shibasaki and Tadanobu Asano, among others.
The site’s sources say the look of each ronin has been uniquely designed to not only reflect their character but to differentiate them on screen. This will be a nice change of pace from last year’s much-loved 13 Assassins, in which everyone wore nearly identical costumes.
47 Ronin opens Nov. 21, 2012.
