Axel-In-Charge: Waid & Samnee on "Black Widow" and the Dawn of the All-New, All-Different Era
According to Variety, the 29-year-old English actress edged out such contenders as Teresa Palmer and Hayley Atwell for the undisclosed role. Once her deal is in place, Eve will join most of cast from the 2009 box-office hit, led by Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto as Kirk and Spock.
A deal is also in the works for Benicio del Toro, whom Abrams confirmed just last week is on his wishlist for Paramount Pictures’ 3D sequel. The actor is destined to play the film’s villain, a role insiders tell the trade paper is “someone familiar to Trekkies.” Abrams apparently has just one more major part to cast, one that could be a villain playing a supporting role to del Toro’s character.
Written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Damon Lindelof, the Star Trek sequel opens May 17, 2013.
