Bryan Singer in Talks to Direct, Executive Produce <i>The Munsters</i>  

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Herman, Lily, Grandpa, Eddie and Marion might be getting another familiar face around casa de Munster for NBC’s upcoming reboot of the 1960s sitcom: Bryan Singer.

The director of The Usual Suspects, the first two X-Men movies and Superman Returns is reportedly closing in on a deal to helm the pilot and executive producer the series, described as a cross between Modern Family and True Blood.

The new Munsters has been a pet project for Pushing Daisies creator Bryan Fuller for over a year now, but just recently got the go-ahead from NBC to go into production. If Singer does sign on, the reboot will be that much closer to becoming a reality and we’ll be able to start talking about what’s really important: casting. Those are some might big shoes to fill, especially Herman’s!

    So we should expect the Munsters to now feature at least one gay family member?

    NBC will cancel it before we get to that.

    I’ve heard from other sources that it will be an hour long drama.  Don’t know if that’s true, but that sounds very lame.
