New Poster, Promo Images Debut for Fourth Season of Merlin

The first poster and promotional images have been released for the fourth season of Merlin, which premieres Jan. 6 on Syfy.

The third season concluded with Morgana (Katie McGrath) crowned queen of Camelot, King Uther (Anthony Head) imprisoned, and Arthur (Bradley James), Merlin (Colin Morgan), Gwen (Angel Coulby), Gaius (Richard Wilson) and Elyan (Adetomiwa Edun) in hiding. The new season finds Arthur and Merlin seeking to stop her treachery with the help of the newly assembled Knights of the Round Table: Lancelot (Santiago Cabrera), Gwaine (Eoin Macken), Perceval (Tom Hopper), Leon (Rupert Young), Elyan and more.

Season 4 also marks the addition of Nathaniel Parker as Agravaine, Arthur’s uncle and Morgana’s powerful new ally. Guest stars also include James Callis (Battlestar Galactica), Philip Davis (Vera Drake), Lindsay Duncan (Alice in Wonderland, Rome), Melanie Hall (Stardust) and Gary Lewis (Billy Elliott).

A fifth season has already been commissioned by the BBC. Merlin returns Friday, Jan. 6, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Syfy.

Surprised this show is still on with all the cancellations that SyFy has been doing. Eureka, SG-!, SGA, SGU, Caprica…

  • Jim

Well it’s a BBC show. SyFy doesn’t actually pay for any of the production, just the rights to air the show in the US, as far as I know.

  • Anyone

    Yeah, BBC produces it.

  • Robbie Barfield

It’s not just produced by the BBC, but by the time it reaches the states the entire season has already ended. I just finished watching season 4 episode 11.
