How "DC Universe: Rebirth" Fulfills Its Promise of Restoring Legacy to DC Comics
Summit Entertainment has released the first images of X-Men: First Class star Nicholas Hoult as a zombie named R in Warm Bodies, director Jonathan Levine’s adaptation of author Isaac Marion’s 2011 romantic thriller.
Hoult, 22, plays a typical undead being who, upon eating the brain of a deceased young man, suddenly falls madly in love with the corpse’s living girlfriend (played by Teresa Palmer of The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and I Am Number Four). Their unlikely relationship kicks off a chain reaction that will transform him, his fellow zombies and possibly their post-apocalyptic world.
“By any standards, Nicholas is pretty fantastic,” Levine tells USA Today, where two of the images premiered. “He’s definitely the Brad Pitt of the zombie world. We wanted to stay true to the zombie tradition and yet make a believable romantic interest.”
Warm Bodies opens Aug. 10.
