Dracula May Haunt NBC’s Lineup

It looks like The Munsters may not be the only creatures featured on NBC in the coming years, as Deadline reports the network wants to add Dracula to its monster mash.

Published in 1897, Bram Stoker’s Dracula of course tells the story of an ancient vampire count who’s pitted against a group of men and women led by Professor Abraham van Helsing when he attempts to relocate from Transylvania to England.

The network has teamed with producers Tony Krantz and Colin Callender and writer Cole Haddon for the 1890s-set supernatural drama, described as “Dangerous Liaisons meets The Tudors.” The project has been given a “script-to-series” commitment, meaning it will skip the pilot stage and go straight to series if NBC likes the script.

If you want to destroy a TV show concept put it on NBC and they’ll show you how.

Yep, they had a hit with Heroes but due to thier constant meddling led to the show’s decline. ABC left Lost alone and it left the air with a satisfying ending after a six year run. Heroes got canceled with a cliff hanger that satisfied nobody. And every show they’ve had in that time slot has failed since.
