Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
Most of those who’ve seen the Locke & Key pilot, based on the acclaimed IDW Publishing comic by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, think the TV drama should be blowing us away every week. Alas, it wasn’t meant to be. However, rejection by Fox hasn’t stopped screenwriter Josh Friedman, who also penned The Black Dahlia and War of the Worlds and served as executive producer of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
In fact, Deadline reports, Friedman already has another pilot set up at Fox.
The Asset centers on a female agent in the New York City office of the CIA, and is being called a mix of drama and action. While the brief description sounds an awful lot like some other shows, Friedman will most likely put the kind of spin on it that has made Locke & Key screenings so popular and gave Sarah Connor such a big an following.
