Cinemax Orders Drama Series From True Blood’s Alan Ball

Cinemax has given a 10-episode order to Banshee, an action drama from True Blood creator Alan Ball and authors Jonathan Tropper and David Schickler, Deadline reports. Emmy winner Greg Yaitanes (House) will direct the first episode.

Described as Walking Tall meets History of Violence, the series follows an ex-con and master thief who moves to Banshee, Pennsylvania, where he continues his life of crime even as he’s pursued by gangsters he betrayed years earlier.

The drama, which was originally developed at Cinemax’s parent HBO, is set to begin production in the spring in and around Charlotte, North Carolina, for a 2013 premiere.

I live in Charlotte. Can’t wait for this to start filming. I’m sure Alan Ball needs a few conspicuously local looking to make fun of. Maybe I can get a job.

Don’t even know if I have Cinemax.  Do they do original series?
