SDCC: Marvel's "Doctor Strange" Combats "Death and Pain" in New Trailer
Comic Books, Film
While the 30-second Super Bowl ad, and subsequent extended version, for The Avengers have rightfully received the most attention, this weekend also saw the debut of new (albeit tiny) promo banners featuring everyone from Iron Man and Hawkeye to Phil Coulson and Maria Hill, as well as a new still of Tom Hiddleston as a somber-looking Loki. Presumably it’s from when the god of mischief is in S.H.I.E.L.D. custody.
Marvel Studios presents in association with Paramount Pictures Marvel’s The Avengers — the super hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel super heroes Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.
Directed by Joss Whedon, The Avengers also stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as the Incredible Hulk, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill and Stellan Skarsgård as Dr. Selvig. It opens May 4.
