Denzel Washington Eyes 2 Guns
Oscar winner Denzel Washington is in early talks to star opposite Mark Wahlberg in 2 Guns, Universal Pictures’ adaptation of the crime comic by Steven Grant and Mataes Santolouco, Deadline reports.
Published in 2007 by BOOM! Studios, the miniseries follows a DEA agent and an undercover Naval Intelligence officer who, unwittingly investigating each other, team up to steal money from the mob. Unfortunately they learn too late that the $50 million actually belongs to the CIA.
Baltasar Kormakur (Contraband) is set to direct from a script by Blake Masters. Marc Platt is producing with BOOM! co-founders Andrew Cosby and Ross Richie. According to Deadline, financing for the adaptation is still coming together, but it appears as if Emmett/Furla Films will step up as co-financier.
Washington stars with Ryan Reynolds in the thriller Safe House, which opens Friday nationwide, and recently wrapped filming on the Robert Zemeckis-directed Flight.
