Why The Russos Are The Best Thing to Happen to the MCU Since Joss Whedon
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who stars as Jaime Lannister on HBO’s Game of Thrones, will join Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman in Oblivion, the sci-fi thriller from TRON: Legacy director Joe Kosinski, Deadline reports.
Based on Kosinski’s own graphic novel, the Universal Pictures film is set in a future where the Earth’s surface is virtually uninhabitable, and most humans live in the clouds. Those who remain below are stalked by alien Scavengers. When a repairman (Cruise) returns to the surface to fix drones designed to fight the aliens, he discovers a mysterious woman in a crash-landed pod, setting off an unstoppable chain of events.
Coster-Waldau will play Sykes, a battle-hardened expert in military technology and weapons.
