    Slash fan fiction writers… assemble!

    Oh God, I’m just kidding…

Nothing says Thunder God like a guy standing around staring at a computer screen with a schmuck in a suit

Looking at this still only further convinces me that they’d be better off abandoning those ridiculously plastic looking arm armours of his, so that Thor would be depicted more like the classic Jack Kirby look of old. Hemsworth’s certainly got the arms for it. I’m glad Whedon’s found a way to have him look this way in a couple of scenes. Now, if only he’d been brave enough to ditch it altogether!

(Man, I really hate JMS, for having his artist redesign Thor just so he could leave his ‘mark’ on the character. Well at least his pants for Wonder Woman notion got trashed..)

Thank you for your deep and thoughtful contribution.

  • Jacob

Too late. I’m already about three chapters in.

  • Keil

Are you talking about the plastic chest apron thing, or the Nerf wrist bands??

    Son of Coul!

  • George S.

A chair not cracking under the sheer weight of a Norse thunder god? Thor has found a worthy opponent indeed!

  • BoredNow!

Boring photo!  What’s up with the low tech and flat screen monitor? And are they trying to recreate those crazy Kirby lines??

  • jpbl1976

I really don’t agree with your opinion on the armor — I’ve been a Thor fan for a long time and one of the best things in recent years has been Coipel’s tunic/mail design. It makes Thor look more mature, more serious and it’s really not a bad design.

I just don’t see how anyone with any taste can like the body-builder look that Thor had before. It was fine during that era but these days it just looks stupid.

  • Caitlin Ladios

    Gaaaah! I’m so excited!

  • Jason S

    Well lets see..
It’s dull and lacks colour. And thus doesn’t stand out in the way his old look did on the page. He doesn’t look as ‘Princely’  as he once did instead, just looking like another regular viking warrior rather than a Prince of Asgard/Superhero.
On film it looks like plastic, which might be why they never used as much of it..(Not on his legs..)

As for realism. This is Thor. He regularly shrugs off getting buildings coming down on top of him, from the likes of the Hulk. So what does a God like him need armour for? The minute you encase a character in armour, it immediately makes the character lose some of his power. (Superman writers take note. He’s the Man of Steel. he dosn’t need armour either..)

  • Bryanbega

agree his new costume just looks better

  • Keil

The blue pleather pants he’s wearing in the picture above have nothing to
do with Coipel’s design – so I don’t know why you’re discussing that
    design here

  • NeedBetterAvengers

Off all the Avengers, why in heaven are they going with Hawkeye and Black Widow?  These are the most boring of all and with without cool superpowers.  And why is Hawkeye not wearing his trademark cowl??

So the bad guys are going to be Skrulls and Maria Hill is one of them?

  • khiaao

What are they looking at? Loki?

If anyone is complaining about anything in this movie, do it better! Go out and make a better movie. Until then, argument is invalid. It’s one shot, do you know that this scene takes up probably one one hundredth of a second? Of a movie that will probably be 2 hours long?

  • Keil

HA HA HA AHA HA HA HA HAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Good argument guy
