Axel-In-Charge: Extending "Secret Wars," Excitement for a "Totally Awesome Hulk"
Dwayne Johnson is in talks to star in MGM’s Hercules, the Brett Ratner-directed adaptation Radical Publishing’s Hercules: The Thracian Wars, Variety reports.
Created by Steve Moore and Admira Wijaya, the 2008 miniseries follows the Greek hero and his six battle-worn companions as they’re called upon by the Thracian king to train his army. But in Thrace Hercules and his band of lost souls discover how far they’ve fallen and what it will take to travel the path to redemption.
The comic was adapted by Ryan Condol, who wrote the screenplay for Alex Proyas’ ill-fated interpretation of Paradise Lost. MGM’s Roger Birnbaum, Gary Barber and Jonathan Glickman will produce with Film 44’s Peter Berg and Sarah Aubrey, as well as Radical Pictures’ Barry Levine. Radical’s Jesse Berger will executive produce.
