Breaking Bad’s Giancarlo Esposito Joins Abrams & Kripke’s Revolution

It’s been a big year for Giancarlo Esposito: He’s had a big showing as drug kingpin Gus Fring on AMC’s Breaking Bad, a recurring role as the Evil Queen’s mirror on ABC’s Once Upon a Time, and now a key part in the J.J. Abrams-Eric Kripke NBC pilot Revolution.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Esposito will play Captain Neville, “a tough military man with a genteel Southern manner who may not always be what he seems.” The project is described as an epic adventure thriller that follows a group of characters struggling to survive in a world where all forms of energy have mysteriously ceased to exist.
The cast also includes Tracy Spiradakos, Graham Rogers and Anna Lise Phillips. Jon Favreau will direct the pilot.
