Horrible Bosses Writers in Talks
to Direct New Vacation Movie

Writing duo John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein made quite the splash last year with Horrible Bosses, the black comedy that grossed nearly $210 million for New Line and Warner Bros. They’re now working on Horrible Bosses 2, as well as the Steve Carrell/Jim Carey magician movie Burt Wonderstone, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, there also may be a directing gig in their futures.

The pair wrote a script for New Line’s continuation of National Lampoon’s Vacation series, and are now in talks to direct. The film doesn’t necessarily reboot or remake the adventures of Clark W. Griswold and family, but instead follows the exploits of a now-grown Rusty, Clark’s son, who has a family of his own.

Unlike the parents in the Vacation films, played throughout the series by Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo, the children were portrayed in each of the four installments by different actors. Anthony Michael Hall (Vacation), Jason Lively (European), Johnny Galecki (Christmas) and Ethan Embry (Vegas) each played Rusty, so it would be interesting to see one or all of them return in some kind of role in this new film.

Maybe have each of them play the role for 25 minutes each! haha… Kidding! Horrible Bosses was an ok comedy, some good and funny scenes, but nothing great. So this news wouldn’t make me want to rush out to see this movie.
