DC Comics' July Highlights: "Batgirl," "Nightwing" and a "New Super-Man"
Even as the June 8 release date of Ridley Scott’s Prometheus nears, we’re still not much clearer as to how the film is connected to his 1979 sci-fi horror classic Alien. The director has said that Prometheus shares the DNA of Alien. We also know that the distress call-sending Space Jockey will play a part, and we’ve even seen a bit of the evidence in images from the film.
Well, here’s a little bit more visual information about the film thanks to ComingSoon and the Prometheus viral site Weyland Industries. There’s no additional information aside from what you can see, but, as ComingSoon points out, the image does evoke the room they found the Space Jockey in the original movie. Plus, that teardrop-shaped thing in the foreground does share some resemblance with the xenomorph egg.
Prometheus features a group of explorers and scientists that runs afoul of alien predators. The somewhat-prequel was written by Damon Lindelof, and stars Charlies Theron, Idris Elba, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Noomi Rapace and Patrick Wilson.
