Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
Another day, another announcement about a movie based on an Archaia comic. Earlier this week it was Sean Rubin’s Bolivar. Today it’s news from Variety that Warner Bros. has acquired the rights to Lucid, a four-issue miniseries written by True Blood actor Michael McMillian and artist Anna Wieszczyk for Zachary Quinto’s Before The Door imprint and production company.
Released last year, the comic is described by the publisher as an “action-packed pop-fantasy that draws inspiration from the spy genre, Arthurian legend and 21st-century folklore.” It follows Agent Matthew Dee, newly appointed “Protector of the Realm,” who uses his skills as a covert spy and combat mage to defend America from dark forces.
No director or screenwriters are attached.
