REVIEW: Violent, Profane "Deadpool" Shouldn't Work, But Really F---ing Does
Nathan Fillion has been cast as the Greek god Hermes in Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, Fox 2000’s sequel to the hit Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He’ll replace Dylan Neal, who played the messenger god in the 2010 film.
Directed by Thor Freudenthal, the fantasy adventure adapts Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Sea of Monsters, the second book in Rick Riordan’s bestselling series of young adult novels. The screenplay, by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski (Ed Wood, Agent Cody Banks), follows the demigod Percy — he’s a son of the Greek god Poseidon — and his friends as they rescue the satyr Grover and retrieve the Golden Fleece.
Logan Lerman returns in the title role, joined by Alexandra Daddario as Annabeth Chase and Brandon T. Jackson as Grover. Chris Columbus, who directed the $226 million-grossing Lightning Thief, will produce the sequel with Karen Rosenfelt.
Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters opens March 26, 2013.
