Ender’s Game Has a Blog!

While the hype around The Hunger Games continues to rise as the minutes tick down to its Friday debut, it’s not the only Game in town. A year from now — March 15, 2013 — Ender’s Game will debut from Odd Lot Entertainment, Summit Entertainment and director Gavin Hood.

To keep fans excited about the film, producer Roberto Orci has launched a Tumblr blog called, appropriately, Ender’s Game Blog. So far there’s only one post, but it’s a good one, with Orci sharing his deep love for Orson Scott Card’s classic sci-fi novel:

Most of us read Ender’s Game when we were young and wondered when it would become a movie. We never dreamed then that we would all be part of the team to bring it to the screen, nor did we realize the novel’s description of our world would be so prescient that its vision would still be unfolding before our very eyes today. And now, watching Asa bring a character to life who has been on our minds since our youth, we realize things happen for a reason. We were waiting for him. Make yourself comfortable, Ender!

The story revolves around Ender Wiggin (played by Asa Butterfield), a prodigy when it comes to military tactics who heads to space school to learn how to fight alien invaders dubbed “buggers.” There he not only learns important alien-fighting skills but also befriends a girl named Petra Arkanian (True Grit’s Hailee Steinfeld). Harrison Ford, Ben Kinglsey, Jimmy “Jax” Pinchak, Aramis Knight, Moises Arias, Suraj Parthasarathy, Khylin Rhambo and Conor Carroll have also been cast.
