Marvel Assembles The Avengers in New Behind-the-Scenes Video

As they did last summer for Captain America: The First Avenger, Marvel and Norton Antivirus have teamed to go behind the scenes of Joss Whedon’s The Avengers in a featurette awkwardly titled “Assemble the Ultimate Protection.” While the previous video was more narrowly focused — it only dealt with Cap’s shield — this one recounts the cinematic buildup to The Avengers, supported by interviews with Whedon, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, Executive Producer Jeremy Latcham and stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth and Chris Evans.

Marvel Studios presents in association with Paramount Pictures Marvel’s The Avengers — the Super Hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel Super Heroes Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.

Opening May 4, The Avengers stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as the Incredible Hulk, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Clark Gregg as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson, Cobie Smulders as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Maria Hill and Stellan Skarsgård as Dr. Selvig.

“Brought to you by Norton” <–Anyone else see the irony? :)

WOW! I didn’t notice that Norton thing until I read your comment. That’s hilarious.

It’s a shame really. When the 90’s ended, Edward Norton seemed to be a contender for best actor of his generation with his performances in Primal Fear, American History X, and Fight Club. He knew it too. He thought he was a big deal after he got the Oscar nod for Primal Fear and has only gotten worse over time. It all came to a breaking point on Hulk. The Incredible Hulk was supposed to be his box office breakthrough, instead he shot himself in the foot. He tried to take control of the final cut, just like he did with American History X, and he didn’t do any promotion for the film after he didn’t get his way. The movie was only a modest success and he ruined his career in Hollywood.
