Rosario Dawson is partnering with The Walking Dead Executive Producer Gale Anne Hurd to develop the actress’ comic O.C.T.: Occult Crimes Taskforce for A&E, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Created by Dawson, writer David Atchison and artist Tony Shasteen, the 2006 Image/12-Gauge Comics miniseries centers on Sophia Ortiz, a new investigator for a 200-year-old police bureau that protects New York City from interdimensional demons and practitioners of black magic. Dimension Films originally acquired the rights to O.C.T. in 2006, with plans to develop it for the big screen.
The A&E drama is being viewed as a starring vehicle for Dawson (Men in Black II, Sin City), which works out well, considering that the actress lent her likeness to the comic’s protagonist.
Jorge Zamacona will write the pilot script (Homicide: Life on the Street, Millennium) and serve as a producer alongside Dawson and Hurd.
