Back in January, Liam Neeson confirmed he had visited the set of Christopher Nolan’s third and final Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises, but it was never made clear where he actually filmed scenes. Well, now the mystery has been solved by the actor’s Warner Bros.-created biography for Wrath of the Titans.

The official production notes for the film, which opens Friday, state, “Neeson next appears in Peter Berg’s actioner Battleship, and he also will be seen in Christopher Nolan’s much-anticipated action thriller The Dark Knight Rises.”

In case you thought that might be a mistake, CNN turned to Neeson himself to clear up the matter. He did, indeed, shoot a scene for The Dark Knight Rises. However, beyond that, you know as much as he does.

“I think so,” he said. “I have no idea what the story is about. Nothing. Nothing. Seriously, I’m not sure if I’m still in it. It’s a cameo – let’s put it that way – if it still survives.”

The film stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Tom Hardy as Bane, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake, Michael Caine as Alfred, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox and now, apparently, Liam Neeson as Ra’s a Ghul. The Dark Knight Rises opens on July 20.

Hu?  Really?  Couldn’t we have all be surprised?  Just image Lucas Films press releasing that Vedar was Luke’s father.

Maybe not the best analogy, but why can’t the audience be surprised anymore?  I’ve avoided all articles on TDKR, but can’t avoid headlines.  Sure I heard the rumors, but I wanted to see the movie to learn the truth.
