Axel-In-Charge: Extending "Secret Wars," Excitement for a "Totally Awesome Hulk"
Seth MacFarlane’s Fox-based reboot of the classic animated series The Flinstones has been put on hold, but apparently not for creative reasons. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the network pushed the project back to give him more time to work on other projects.
In addition to Family Guy, The Cleveland Show and American Dad, all of which air on Fox Sunday evenings, MacFarlane also recently wrapped his feature directorial debut with Ted, which opens July 13. He’s also working on a 13-episode followup to Carl Sagan’s science series Cosmos: A Personal Journey called Cosmos: A Space-Time Odyssey.
Fox started staffing the new animation offices with writers and producers for The Flinstones, but put that on hold because of MacFarlane’s busy schedule. No word has been given as to when the wheels will start turning again.
