Emily Blunt Joins Tom Cruise
in All You Need Is Kill

 

Emily Blunt continues to genre-hop. After starring in the upcoming Nicholas Stoller-directed comedy The Five-Year Engagement with Jason Segel, she’ll appear in the sci-fi thriller Looper with Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. According to Variety, Blunt will then add another action-based sci-fi flick to her slate, this one called All You Need Is Kill.

Based on a graphic novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, the Warner Bros. film scored Tom Cruise as the lead in December. He’ll play a soldier in the fight against invading aliens who finds himself in a time loop experiencing the same battle over and over again. Blunt will play another soldier that Cruise encounters repeatedly.

Doug Liman of Bourne Identity and Jumper fame will direct from a script by Dante Harper (Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters) with Joby Harold working on a rewrite.
