Vaughan & Chiang's "Paper Girls" Builds a Familiar Yet Disconcerting World
Just over a year ago, reports came in that the 2009 Konami video game adaptation Silent Hill would be getting a sequel starring original cast members Radha Mitchell, Deborah Kara Unger and Sean Bean. Bean will be joined by his Game of Thrones co-star Kit Harington as well as Adelaide Clemens of X-Men: First Class fame.
Photos have been released as well as a plot synopsis that you can read below, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, the film also now has distribution from Open Road Pictures and an Oct. 31 release date.
Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is based on the acclaimed survival horror videogame franchise by KONAMI and is the sequel to Hadida and Carmody’s earlier Silent Hill directed by Christophe Gans. For years, Heather Mason (Clemens) and her father have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t fully understand. Now on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by terrifying nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she’s not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever.
Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, directed by Michael J. Bassett, debuts on Halloween against Paranormal Activity 4.
