Bendis On War Machine's Death, She-Hulk's Fate & Raising the "Civil War II" Stakes
For the moment, we’re going to stop trying to figure out exactly how Ridley Scott’s Prometheus fits in with the 1979 classic Alien, and just enjoy this brand-new international trailer.
As you can see, the trailer not only sets up the idea that alien civilizations visited Earth in its ancient history, but also shows off more of the film’s setting than we’ve previously seen. Charlize Theron’s Meredith Vickers takes center stage and clearly knows more about what’s going on than the team supposedly there to see if this unexplored planet can be terraformed for humans. There’s even a few more looks at the Space Jockey, albeit quick ones.
Written by Damon Lindelof and Jon Spaihts, Prometheus also stars Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Idris Elba, Sean Harris, Kate Dickie, Rafe Spall, Logan Marshall-Green, Guy Pearce and Patrick Wilson. It opens June 8.
In the distant future, two superpowers control Earth and fight each other for all the solar system’s natural resources. When one side dispatches a team to a distant planet to terraform it for human colonization, the team discovers an indigenous race of bio-mechanoid killers.
Ridley Scott, director of Alien and Blade Runner, returns to the genre he helped define. With Prometheus, he creates a groundbreaking mythology, in which a team of explorers discover a clue to the origins of mankind on Earth, leading them on a thrilling journey to the darkest corners of the universe. There, they must fight a terrifying battle to save the future of the human race.
