Luke Evans, who appeared as Apollo in Clash of the Titans and Zeus in Immortals, is finalizing a deal to play the villain in the sixth installment of Universal Pictures’ Fast and Furious franchise, Heat Vision reports.
Directed by Justin Lin from a script by Chris Morgan, Fast Six will see Paul Walker and Vin Diesel reprise their roles as Brian O’Conner and Dominic Toretto, with Dwayne Johnson’s Diplomatic Security Agent Luke Hobbs again on their tails. Gina Carano will play a member of Johnson’s team (Michelle Rodriguez is also expected to return as Letty).
Although plot details are being kept under wraps, Variety contends the film finds the crew heading to Europe for a heist, only to find another crew — led by Evans, naturally — trying to pull off the same job.
The 33-year-old Evans can currently be seen opposite John Cusack in The Raven. He’s also playing Bard the Bowman in Peter Jackson’s two-movie adaptation of The Hobbit.
