Check Out Beautiful Concept Art From Marvel’s The Avengers

Courtesy of ComicBookMovie comes two galleries of stunning concept art created for Marvel’s The Avengers by Steve Jung and Nathan Schroeder, who both previously worked on Thor. In fact, Schroeder has seven Marvel Comics-based films to his credit, from X-Men to Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer to Captain America: The First Avenger. Directed by Joss Whedon, The Avengers grossed more than $700 million worldwide in just 13 days. The blockbuster stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as the Incredible Hulk, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Clark Gregg as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Phil Coulson, Cobie Smulders as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Maria Hill and Stellan Skarsgård as Dr. Selvig.

    Fantastic art. My big disappointment with the film was the underpowering of Thor. Hopefully, they’ll make up for that in the next one.

    Some great concept art here. I particularly like the shield helicarrier as I’m interested in military sci-fi.

    It’s funny to look at the huge size difference betwen Thor and the Hulk. It wasn’t always that way – if you go back to their classic clash in the first Defenders/Avengers conflict they were much closer in size.

    It was a great movie – action packed but the interaction between these diverse Marvel icons was fascinating.
