Idris Elba Wants to Explore
Heimdall More in Thor 2

 

News broke in January that Idris Elba would definitely return for Marvel’s Thor sequel, but now Collider has spoken to the actor about his hopes for Heimdall in the film, directed by Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones).

“I’d just like to get to know him a bit more,” Elba said. “Who is Heimdall? He guards the gate. Okay. Is there anything else? I don’t know what is in the script because I haven’t read it yet. But, the audience has responded to Asgard and wants to know more about who lives there and what it’s about. I’m sure, if they do that, Heimdall will be featured more.”

Elba also told MTV he’s seen a script outline, adding, “Definitely Heimdall’s more involved, what I also think is more involved is who the Asgardians are. I think we’ll see a sense of that. It’s a huge film, Thor 2, but it’s also micro in the sense that we look at people, who they are.” He went on to say that he’s excited about the film and that he just recently went to a fitting for the costume.

Thor 2, which again stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston, opens Nov. 15, 2013.
