Ayer Reveals Jared Leto's Tattooed "Suicide Squad" Joker
For some directors, working on one of the most successful films in history would be enough to bring them back for a second round. However, that may not be the case with The Avengers writer/director Joss Whedon.
“You know, I’m very torn [about returning for Avengers 2],” he told Hero Complex before the U.S. release of the $1-billion blockbuster. “It’s an enormous amount of work telling what is ultimately somebody else’s story, even though I feel like I did get to put myself into it. But at the same time, I have a bunch of ideas, and they all seem really cool.”
It’s important to note when the interview took place, so it’s entirely possible that Whedon’s views on a sequel have changed. We do know that a follow-up will be a ways off, as Marvel Studios has announced its slate for the next few years, which includes Iron Man 3, Captain America 2, Thor 2 and a pair of unannounced films.
