Dark Knight Rises Rolls Out
First TV Spots, 11 New Stills

 

With the premiere of The Dark Knight Rises now less than two months away, Warner Bros. has begun the promotional sprint for the conclusion of director Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, first with the release earlier this week of a new poster and six character banners and now with the debut of the first two television spots and 11 new production stills.

The first commercial is a general 30-second teaser with a few flashes of new footage, while the second, fittingly titled “Catwoman,” moves Anne Hathaway’s Selina Kyle to center stage. The new images, meanwhile, come courtesy of Batman-News and Empire (and include what I think is the first official photo of Marion Cotillard’s much-discussed Miranda Tate).

Opening July 20, The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale as Batman, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Tom Hardy as Bane, Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tale, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake, Michael Caine as Alfred, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon and Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox.
